The 2019 Run for 102 / Run for the Roses will be held Sunday morning, May 19, 2019. The race kicks off with the 5K at 8:00am followed by the 1 mile at 9:00. A post-race party begins immediately following the 1 mile event and will include food provided by our sponsors along with additional fun activities. There will be a medal ceremony at 9:15am. The 5K course travels through the tree-lined residential streets of La Grange Park while the 1-mile event is a shorter distance that is spectator-friendly.
The course starts and ends at Forest Road School (901 Forest Road, LaGrange Park) and travels a route through the tree-lined streets of LaGrange Park.
Packet pick-up (this includes a goody bag, timing bib, t-shirt for all participants) will be held at Gemini Gymnastics on Friday 5/17 from 12-6pm and Saturday 5/18 from 10am-4pm. Packets may also be picked up before the race on Sunday morning 5/19 from 6:45-7:45am.
Bib & Timing
Each participant will receive a B-Tag timing chip attached to their bib when they pick up their race materials at packet pickup. Please do not remove the B-Tag from your bib. Results for each participant will include finish time and pace. Official results will be posted online within 24 hours of race. In order to receive an accurate time, please be sure:
For the 5K please note that an 18-minute mile pace or faster is required. All 5K participants are required to be off the course by 8:55am in order to start the 1-mile race on-time at 9:00am. The local police and race organizers will ask you to either move onto the sidewalk or require you to be transported further up on the course to catch up to the 18 min. per mile group.
Commemorative award medals will be presented to the top two male and female finishers in multiple age groups for each the 5K and 1 mile event. All participants are only eligible for one award medal. The awards ceremony will take place immediately following the event at approximately 9:15 am.
Weather & No-refund policy
The Run for 102 / Run for the Roses will happen rain or shine! We'll move packet pickup and the post-race party indoors to the gym if its bad weather. DJ, food, vendors all will be there! In case of severe weather, please use your best judgement. As this is a charity event and is typical for races, refunds will not be issued.
